how to create smart list in Hyperion?

Smart list:

This is used to restrict the user by giving specific options (drop down list) while entering the data.

Smart Lists are custom drop-down lists that users access from data form cells in Planning applications. When clicking into data form cells, users select items from drop-down lists instead of entering data. Users cannot type in cells that contain Smart Lists. Smart Lists display in cells as down arrows that expand when users click into the cells.

1.Logon into workspace.

2.Select your planning application for which application you want to create smart list.

3.Click on administration and then manage smart lists.

And then you will get this window

4. Click on create tab, to create smart list

5. Enter tab values like,

Smart list : Enter smart list name(ex: car)

Label: Enter label(this is optional ex: car facility)

Display order: id/name/order

If you check box it will automatically create your id.properties tab finished, now we moved into second tab i.e entries tab.

6.To add new options you have click on add button

See preview and save it, and observe your smart list.

7. Then go to your selected planning application,and then dimensions, under dimensions go to evaluation order.

8. After clicking on evolution order you will get below window.

9. Now select the dimension in which dimension you want to use your smart list. for ex i'm selecting account dimension,and then click on save.

10. Go to dimensions tab

11.Select member for which member you want to use smart list.(i'm selecting car facility member). select member and click on edit.

12.Select datatype: Smart list (then only smart list field will enable).

Select smart list: Select your smart list name.

My smart list is car, i will select car. Click on save.

13. Smart lists we will use in web forms,now go to administration, and then manage data forms

In the above screen shot u can find car facility member,click on that you will get drop down list.

Select one option and save it.

Creation of smart list in Hyperion planning was done.
